Mountain Biking & Hiking
There are good tracks on the property offering a variety of trails for both hiking and biking. Try our adventurous creek walk up to a newly formed lake created after the 2016 Kaikoura Earthquake.

Swimming
Spey Creek meanders through our property and provides a great waterfall experience where you can swim and sit in behind the clearest of water flowing from above. Cooling off on a hot summer day in a beautiful natural environment. What more could you wish for?
Spey Creek Honey
Manuka trees are in abundance at Spey Creek. Flowering usually happens late November through to March. The buzz of bees is music to our ears and tasty to our mouths! Taste the Lodges ‘home brew’. Your choice of Manuka, Manuka blend or honey dew.
Photography
A wildlife photographers dream right here. Spey Creek on occasion, will offer a unique opportunity to capture the mighty Red Stag roaring his head off during the rut or a Fallow deer racing through the bush.
BIRD SONG and don’t forget the binoculars. The ever changing seasons means our native bird life is constantly varying. Take delight in the busy life of the New Zealand fantail fluttering from tree to tree. Follow streams and natural springs throughout the property and who knows what an avid bird watcher might spot.
Hunting
Hunting, foraging and gathering is about as natural as you can get in the season. Take time to enjoy a fully guided hunt in the hills of Spey Creek.

As a home base, Spey Creek is well positioned to come and go to discover and explore Kaikoura, better known by National Geographic as the “Serengeti of the Ocean”.
